Trump Picks VP- Republicans Rally

Former President Donald Trump ended the saga surrounding his running mate on Monday.

The former president announced Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his running mate, ending months of speculation and suspense. Trump made the announcement in a post on his Truth social account.

“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” The former president wrote.

Trump, who Cited Vance’s service to the country in the Marine Corps, insisted that his running mate would be strongly focused on the American people he fought for.

“As Vice President, J.D. will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump added. “Congratulations to Senator J.D. Vance, his wife, Usha, who also graduated from Yale Law School, and their three beautiful children. MAGA2024!”

Vance, 39, responded to Trump’s announcement, saying he was honored to be the president’s running mate.

“Just overwhelmed with gratitude,” Vance wrote on X. “What an honor it is to run alongside President Donald J. Trump. He delivered peace and prosperity once, and with your help, he’ll do it again. Onward to victory!”

The Red Archives previously reported that Trump was considering Vance as his running mate. The report cited some of the former president’s loyalists who insisted that the Ohio senator would be the right candidate for Trump.

Vance appeared at the Republican National Convention, where delegates officially nominated him as the party’s vice presidential candidate.

Republican delegates and attendees rallied around the senator, many of whom spoke of their pride and joy at having him represent the party alongside Trump.

President Joe Biden’s campaign reacted to Trump’s announcement with expected criticism.  Jen O’Malley Dillon, the Biden campaign chairwoman, claimed that Trump picked Vance because the senator would bend over backward to enable his agenda.

“Donald Trump picked J.D. Vance as his running mate because Vance will do what Mike Pence wouldn’t on January 6: bend over backwards to enable Trump and his extreme MAGA agenda, even if it means breaking the law and no matter the harm to the American people,” Dillon wrote.
