Hollywood star and Democrat mega-donor George Clooney joined a list of influential liberals calling on President Joe Biden to drop out of the race. 

Clooney, in an editorial in The New York Times, insisted that the president must drop out because he is fighting a battle he can’t win. The actor, who hosted a fundraiser for Joe Biden barely three weeks ago, maintained that Biden wasn’t the man he was. 

“The one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” Clooney wrote. “It’s devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe’ big F-ing deal ‘Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate.”

The actor insisted that the party will not win the coming election if its members decide to stick with Joe Biden. The actor also added that the Democrat Party will not only lose the White House.

“But the dam has broken,” Clooney added. “We can put our heads in the sand and pray for a miracle in November, or we can speak the truth.”

The actor noted that while replacing Biden would be messy, it also presents an opportunity for positive change. It could save the party from a disaster in November and set a new course for the future.

Clooney’s remarkable change in tune comes after several Democrats called on the president to drop out. As reported by The Red Archives, ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos—a prominent Biden backer and former White House staffer— was secretly recorded telling a pedestrian in NYC that he doesn’t believe the president can serve another four more years.

On Wednesday, Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) joined those calling for Joe Biden’s replacement. The Democrat lawmaker, in an interview with NewsNation’s “The Hill,” insisted that Biden can not serve another four years. 

“I think, right now, as I said, he’s more than capable of doing the job. If you asked, in my honest opinion, given his health, do I think he can serve out the full four years? No. I really don’t,” Smith said “…I think he can do the job as president. I just don’t think he can do the job of delivering our message as a candidate.”
