Fani Willis Daughter Arrested
Kinaya Willis, daughter of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, was arrested in late August in Georgia.
The district attorney’s 25-year-old daughter was pulled over on August 24 in Tyrone by the police.
According to Daily Mail, Kinaya Willis was stopped because she was using a cell phone while driving. It was during interrogation on the scene that the police found out that her license had been revoked.
Willis was said to have blamed her mother, telling the police she was using her cellphone “due to her mother calling her related to her pregnancy.” She also said she was “unaware” that her license had been revoked since May 13, the outlet reported.
Fani Willis arrived at the scene after news got to her about her daughter’s arrest. Willis came to secure the 2010 Nissan Altima; her daughter was allegedly driving illegally, according to the outlet.
Bodycam footage from the police, first obtained by the Daily Mail and later obtained by the New York Post, shows that Willis arrived with a man. The New York Post reports it’s the former special prosecutor, Nathan Wade. Police first mistook them for a couple, addressing them as Kinaya’s parents, which Willis had corrected, saying Wade is “just her friend.”
The outlet reported that Kinaya Willis was booked and then released on a non-indictable driving offense with a revoked license from the Fayette County Jail. Also, a mugshot of her was reportedly taken by the authorities in jail, which is located thirty minutes away from her mother’s office in Atlanta.
While conducting legal proceedings against former President Donald Trump, Willis landed herself under heavy criticism for her extramarital affair with Wade.
The Daily Caller contacted the Fulton County district attorney’s office and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for comments and to confirm the Daily Mail and New York Post reports made earlier.
