A pair of Porsche-driving Long Island squatters were evicted this week by sheriff deputies who changed locks and removed their belongings.

The couple, Denton Gayle, 29, and Margaret Grover, 19, were accused of squatting in a New York home and allegedly tricked a judge into getting legal rights to the property they didn’t own.

They became known as infamous squatters in a Long Island neighborhood after setting up camp in a dilapidated home along with their toddler, dog and a luxury vehicle last year.

The couple were first arrested and evicted from their home in October after a neighbor reported that they had their child living in squalor, without electricity or working bathrooms.

However, they were soon able to move back into the neighborhood after claiming to Judge Christopher Coschignano that they had signed a lease with the supposed property owner, Edward Iacono.

Meanwhile, Iacono had been dead for nearly eight years. Every last immediate family member of Iacono had died by 2018.

Unknowingly, the judge allowed Gayle and Grover to return in December and even ordered the local sheriff’s department to help them move back in.

Meanwhile, other residents of the neighborhood said the couple was tormenting them.

“There’s no reasoning with these people,” one neighbor said in a statement to the New York Post. “They cause a lot of chaos; they’re disrespectful to neighbors and not concerned about safety for whoever’s around.”

The neighbors then went to court, submitting Iacono’s death certificate to Judge Coschignano and asking for the order to be vacated. Last month, Coschignano agreed after Gayle and Grover failed to offer proof of their claims.

Court records show that the couple requested to be added as heirs to the home despite having zero relation to the Iaconos.

The couple denied the allegations and even hired an attorney. In a statement to the New York Post, the lawyer appealed the judge’s decision.

The lawyer then claimed the couple were not settlers, and it is believed that they signed a valid lease in July with a man they thought was Edward Iacono.

The couple and their possessions were finally escorted from the property by deputies around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, bringing good news to the neighbors.

“Our residents deserve to live in a safe and peaceful community, and the troubling issues at 39 Brussel prevented that,” North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Christine Liu said.
