Timberwolves’ Naz Reid Ejected From Basketball Game

Minnesota Timberwolves star Naz Reid was ejected from Tuesday’s game against the Washington Wizards after catching Wizards guard Johnny Davis with an elbow while attempting to box him out during the first quarter at Target Center in Minneapolis.

Both Reid and Davis were boxing out under the basket, and they were contesting against each other. Reid, 6-foot-9 and 264 pounds blasted Davis with an elbow right to the head.

The NBA officials described the elbow toss as unnecessarily aggressive. They ejected Reid from the contest, recording just eight minutes of action and three points before his exit.

Following Reid’s ejection, Timberwolves coach Chris Finch claimed he was unaware when the incident happened.

I didn’t see it when it happened; I got a quick look at the replay behind the bench, so I gotta look at it again,” Finch said. “I don’t know how egregious it looked.”

Fortunately, the Timberwolves triumphed in a 130-121 win over the Wizards with the help of Anthony Edwards. According to a local news outlet, Edwards reportedly scored a career-high 51 points, shooting 17-of-29 from the field and 6-of-13 from three-point range. He had seven assists and six rebounds.

Following the team’s victory, Coach Finch tagged the win as an unbelievable performance

“He was in a groove. He was feeling it for sure. We needed all of them, and the best thing about it for me was they came in the flow; he kept making the right play down the stretch,” Finch said. “I thought it was an unbelievable performance. Everyone has a green light when they play for me. It’s tough to have a night like that. Physically, it is tough to score 50 points, and it takes a lot of energy and effort. To do it with this type of efficiency is pretty impressive.”

This incident comes a year after two Timberwolves players, Rudy Gobert and Jaden McDaniels, were ejected from the Minnesota Timberwolves- Golden State Warriors game.

The game, which took at the Chase Center in San Francisco, saw both Timberwolves players getting physical with two players from the Warriors.
