Multiple Candidates Endorse Trump Abortion Stance

Multiple GOP senate candidates threw their support behind former President Donald Trump on Monday after he announced his abortion stance.

The former president announced this week that abortion laws should be left up to the states.

“Many people have asked me what my position is on abortion and abortion rights,” Trump said in the video posted on his Truth Social site. “My view is now that we have an abortion where everybody wanted it from a legal standpoint, the states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both. And whatever they decide must be the law of the land — in this case, the law of the state.”

While Trump didn’t support a complete federal ban on abortion, he expressed support for certain exceptions like cases of assault, incest, and when the life of the mother is at risk. He also endorsed in-vitro fertilization (IVF).

According to reports, the former president outlined the current legal environment, in which different states have different restrictions.

“Many states will be different. Many will have a different number of weeks, or some will be more conservative than others, and that’s what they will be,” he said. “At the end of the day, it’s all about the people’s will.”

Kari Lake of Arizona agreed with Trump’s abortion stance in a post on X.

“I agree with President Trump: I do NOT support a federal abortion ban. Policy should be up to individual states,” Lake wrote.” Democrats are the true extremists on this issue, supporting abortion for up to 9 months. In the Senate, I will advocate for protecting IVF, baby bonuses, extending the child tax credit, & providing more resources for women.”

Sam Brown of Nevada, an army veteran, also endorsed Trump’s stance in a public statement.

“Like President Trump, I am pro-life and believe the issue is now correctly left at the state level, Brown said. “I applaud President Trump for his compassionate and unwavering commitment to the Pro-Life movement and helping more families have children through IVF.”

Other candidates who endorsed Trump’s stance include Bernie Moreno of Ohio, Tim Sheehy of Montana and David McCormick of Pennsylvania.
