President Donald Trump’s two terms have been characterized by staffers who leak secret details to the press. Two of those leakers ran out of luck and have now been identified, according to the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. 

Prior to the announcement, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans were leaked to the press. The plan involved massive raids on illegal immigrants in the country. However, leakers within ICE had leaked the planned raid, with many of the illegal immigrants made aware of the raid beforehand.  

Noem announced in an X post on Friday that two of those leakers have been identified, and plans to refer them to the Justice Department are underway. 

“We have identified two leakers of information here at the Department of Homeland Security who have been telling individuals about our operations and putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy,” Noem said in a video. “We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they’ve done. We’re going to continue to do all that we can to keep America safe.”

Noem, who promised to root out all leakers, revealed that her department plans to refer the individuals to the Justice Department for felony prosecution. 

“These individuals face up to 10 years in federal prison,” Noem wrote in a message attached to the video. “We will find and root out all leakers. They will face prison time & we will get justice for the American people.”

This latest revelation comes weeks after Trump’s border czar Tom Homan told Fox News he was closing in on the leakers. 

“We think it’s coming from inside. And we know the first leak in Aurora is under current investigation. We think we’ve identified that person,” Homan said at the time. 

The leakers revealed information that allowed members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua to evade capture in a February ICE raid. When agents showed up at the apartment building, they found it empty. 

Homan insisted that the leak put agents in danger. 

“You’re putting officers’ lives at risk. It’s only a matter of time before we walk into a place where there’s going to be a bad guy [who] doesn’t care, Homan said. “He’s going to be sitting in wait to ambush an officer. This is not a game.”

Homan told Fox News that he believed the leaks were coming from the FBI. 

Noem did not reveal the identities of the alleged leakers.
