US Army Finally Makes Revelation Regarding DC Crash

The United States Army has finally provided details regarding the tragic D.C. crash from last week.

A U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with an American Airlines jet at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. The tragic collision led to several casualties, including three army personnel aboard the military aircraft.

Following the crash, the army immediately released the names of two personnel aboard the military helicopter. They were identified as Chief Warrant Officer 2 Andrew Eaves, 39, and Staff. Sgt. Ryan Austin O’Hara, 28. However, the identity of the third personnel was not released immediately, leading to wild rumors.

The U.S. Army put those rumors to bed on Saturday after identifying the third personnel as Capt. Rebecca M. Lobach. The army previously held back Lobach’s identity at the request of her family. However, the army revealed in a Saturday press release that it revealed Lobach’s identity at the request of and in coordination with her family.

“Our deepest condolences go out to her family, and all the families who are mourning the loss of their loved ones impacted by this devastating accident. We continue to work with the families of our fallen Soldiers and support the ongoing investigations,” the army said in the statement.

According to the army’s press release, Lobach is from Durham, North Carolina. She served as an aviation officer (15A) in the regular Army from July 2019 to January 2025. She had no prior deployments and was assigned to the 12th Aviation Battalion at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. Her awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Army Service Ribbon.

Lobach’s family also released a statement through the army, where they described her as “a bright star in all our lives.”

“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Rebecca. She was a bright star in all our lives. She was kind, generous, brilliant, funny, ambitious and strong. No one dreamed bigger or worked hard to achieve her goals.” the family said in the statement.

According to reports on CBS News, Lobach previously worked as a White House social aide under the Biden administration. The report stated further that she escorted Ralph Lauren through the White House when he was among those awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Joe Biden.

Lobach and her colleague had been performing a training mission near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Wednesday when her aircraft crashed into the passenger plane.
