Harris, Democrats Set For Big Defeat- Here Is Why

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign is facing a major disaster and could be heading for the rocks, according to Mary Rooke, commentary and analysis writer at The Daily Caller News Foundation

With just less than 2 weeks to go till the November election, political trends in Pennsylvania — a key battle state–- seem to be moving against the vice president and towards former President Donald Trump.

Along with Pennsylvania, Harris must also take Wisconsin and Michigan. The three states, known as the “blue wall” or the “Rust Belt,” were pivotal in deciding the last two presidential elections. President Trump took all three states on his way to a shock victory over former First Lady Hillary Clinton in 2016. Joe Biden also won all three states in 2020 when on his way to the White House.

According to Rooke, Harris’ performance in Pennsylvania is “keeping local Democrats up at night,” with the vice president not performing as well as Joe Biden did in 2020. The main indicator of Harris’ impending disaster in Pennsylvania is the dwindling registration gap between Republican and Democrat voters over the past few years.

Rooke noted that not only are Republicans gaining on Democrats in voter registration, but the deadline to register new voters in Pennsylvania has ended. Republican activist and founder of Early Vote Action Scott Presler reported that the Democrats’ voter registration advantage dropped by another 14,901 over the last week.

Presler’s report showed that Republican voter registration means blue counties like Beaver County, Bucks County and Luzerne County could turn Red.

According to Charlie Grow, a longtime political operative in Pennsylvania, a significant number of those registrations that are changing are Democrat to Republican.

Grow, who spoke to Politico, noted another indication that Trump could take Pennsylvania is the rising number of Republicans demanding early voting.

“Democrats have always dwarfed Republicans because Republicans prefer to vote in-person and most of them do. But Republicans have caught on to the fact that if you bank your vote, it’s guaranteed to be cast. And so the Republican request for mail-in ballots is way, way up this year and the Democrats’ numbers simply aren’t as good.” Gerow added.

According to Rooke, Republicans’ mail-in ballot returns are outpacing their 2020 numbers, a fact that is leaving Democrats worried.

Cliff Maloney, founder of Pennsylvania Chase, noted that Republicans have mail-in ballot returns of 257,326. That figure shows a 100,000 increase compared to 2020.

Meanwhile, the Democrats’ numbers, with  528,697 mail-in ballot returns so far, stand significantly higher than the Republicans’. However, the Democrat turnout is down by 123,742 ballots compared to 2020.
