New Trump Move May Land Hunter Biden In Trouble

  • Questions raised about Biden’s mental competency during signings.
  • No evidence suggests Biden was unaware of pardon decisions.

Introduction

President Donald Trump’s administration has launched a bold investigation into Joe Biden’s final acts as president, zeroing in on controversial pardons that may have shielded his family and others from justice. The probe, led by the Justice Department, promises to uncover whether these actions were legitimate or a desperate attempt to protect allies.

Investigation Targets Biden’s Pardons

The Trump administration’s Justice Department, under Pardon Attorney Ed Martin, is scrutinizing clemency decisions made by Biden in his waning days in office. The investigation focuses on pardons granted to Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, his siblings James Biden, Frank Biden, Valerie Biden Owens, and their spouses, as well as death row inmates. According to an email obtained by Reuters, Martin stated the probe will examine whether Biden “was competent and whether others were taking advantage of him through use of AutoPen or other means.”

Autopen Controversy Sparks Debate

An autopen, a device that automatically affixes signatures, is at the heart of the controversy. Trump and his supporters claim Biden’s use of the device raises doubts about his awareness of the pardons, potentially invalidating them.

“We had a president that didn’t sign anything. He autopenned almost anything,” Trump said, questioning Biden’s mental sharpness.

However, a 2005 Justice Department memo confirms that autopen use by a subordinate is legitimate, and no evidence suggests Biden was unaware of his decisions.

Biden’s Pardons Under Fire

The pardons, issued between January 16 and January 19, included Hunter Biden, who pleaded guilty to tax violations and faced firearms charges. Critics argue these were self-serving moves to shield the Biden family.

What’s Next for the Probe?

The investigation could have far-reaching implications, potentially challenging the validity of Biden’s pardons. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is also probing Biden’s autopen use, alleging aides may have acted without his consent. As Trump’s DOJ pushes forward, conservatives demand answers about who truly controlled Biden’s White House.
