Jon Snow Reveals Why GOT Had A Poor Ending
Actor Kit Harington, during a recent interview with GQ Hype, gave a response to what people had to say about the Game of Thrones final season.
The final season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones premiered on April 14, 2019, and concluded on May 19, 2019. Harington, alongside Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage, were part of the cast.
The young actor said that the reason he and the rest of the cast didn’t do their best in the final season was tiredness.
He said, “I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, is that we were all so f***ing tired, we couldn’t have gone on longer.”
The actor, who also played a role in the movie Eternals, said, “I went in and everyone loved Thrones; I came out and everyone hated it. I thought, ‘what the f*** is going on?’”.
When asked what the storyline about Jon Snow was, his reply was, “I don’t really want to say, because it starts a whole thing”.
“And so I understand some people thought it was rushed and I might agree with them. But I’m not sure there was any alternative. I look at pictures of me in that final season and I look exhausted. I look spent. I didn’t have another season in me”, Harington told the interviewer.
Harington played the character of Jon Snow, a secret love child of royalty who was thought to be a bastard. Fans were not satisfied with most of the characters’ endings, including that of Harington’s.
Fans also complained that not only was the final season rushed, but it also lacked character development and emotional depths, unlike the previous series. According to fans, these characteristics were some of the reasons for the series’ earlier success with viewers.
